16TH FLOOD MEMORIAL DAY
Did you know that the Great Flood of 1879 destructed the city of Szeged in an unprecedented measure? Did you know that its citizens made a resolution if the city could be reconstructed, they built a church in gratitude? That’s the story of the building of the Votive Church, and that’s why Scouts of Southern Hungary and the Szeged-Centre Presbytery organize a memorial day every year, 16th time now. The programme offers colourful and various activities both for children and adults.
