More than a hundred hot air balloons from around thirty countries from all over the world will colour the skies of Szeged between 8-14 September, at the 25th edition of the World Hot Air Ballooning Championships, the biggest world competition in hot air ballooning.

Silently passing between heaven and earth, a huge and colourful convoy of hot air balloons will take over Szeged’s skies in early September for the 25th FIA World Ballooning Championships, the world’s best ballooning competition. The sport’s most prestigious competition will attract participants from around 30 countries from all over the world, from Australia to Canada, including Japan, China, India, Brazil, Colombia, the United States, last year’s top-ranked country, and many other European countries, and of course, Hungary will be there to cheer on the Hungarian competitors.

In September, Szeged will become the centre of the world’s hot air ballooning, with spectacular balloons taking to the skies on training days between 5 and 7. The competition will start on the 8th and the colourful aerial parade will last for almost a week.

The organisers will be able to provide more information about the programme in the weeks leading up to the event. They will also keep visitors informed of where the hot air balloons will take off and land every day for the duration of the event.
