The International Tisza Fish Festival is held on the first weekend of September every year in Szeged.

It is a great celebration of Szeged fish soup. On Saturday and Sunday, the best of Szeged’s fish soup is served in the Giant Bogrács set up in front of the Museum on the Water Bastion.
It’s all about Szeged fish soup, about our traditional gastronomic and cultural values, about community building and cultural entertainment, fulfilling the role of the festival, which is to perpetuate the cooking traditions of Szeged Fish Soup, famous for its deliciousness, and to promote fish as a healthy food.
Not only the traditional flavours, but also the colourful Hungarian handicraft products will be presented on the Tisza bank: handicraft products from all over the country will be on display, enriching the offer and the atmosphere of the event.
