We have stepped into the second month of autumn, but with the arrival of colder weather we do not have to give up on exciting programs. The city of sunshine awaits visitors with autumn sunshine.
The Fool Moon International A’Cappella Festival gives the first chord of autumn on 5 and 6 October in IH Event Center. It is still the first and only such event in Hungary that focuses on the popularization of the genre.
Within the XIV. Szeged Autumn Jewish Cultural Festival, on 7 October „The Pearls of Jewish Music” is performed by Gergely Nógrádi chief cantor, Nelli Teszter pianist, Judit Pap pianist and György Vadász singer. It is followed by the concert of János Bródy on 9 October and on 17 October a concert by Eszter Ádám, singer and opera singer graduated at the classical singer, the music pedagogy and the composition faculties of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She performs with Gábor Barta pianist, teacher, director of chorus, and the event is hosted by Ildikó Hűvösvölgyi, Kossuth-awarded actress. On 28 October Kántor concert will be on with the title „Jiddis Soul”, and it is followed by an organ concert of László Csanádi DLA on 30 October.
On the occasion of the World Animal Day on 4 October, the Szeged Zoo awaits visitors with a big variety of programs and informative presentations. It is followed by the Adopters’ Day on 7 October with spectacular animal shows, playful competitions and the Adopters’ Meeting.
The Pumpkin Day is organized on 14 October in the Botanical Garden with pumpkin carving, pumpkin exhibition, tasting of pumpkin dishes, artisan market and activities.
The Szeged Paprika Show and Chili Weekend is organized on the second weekend of October. It takes place in Széchenyi Square, and it is an unmissable program for capsaicin addicted. It is worth visiting the Zoo on the last day of October for Halloween. Witchy atmosphere, exciting meeting with scary animals, carnivore feedings and special animal petting await children and adults.
