Magyar Ede tér

Ede Magyar (Ede Oszadszki) is the outstanding representative of Art Nouveau architecture in Szeged. He graduated at the Budapest State College of Building Industry and following his foreign studies he worked mainly in Szeged. His memory is preserved by his bust in Szent István tér. His main work is the Reök Palace, ordered by Iván Reök and the square in front of the building it named in honor of Ede Magyar. The Art Nouveau palace built in 1906-1907 houses the All Arts Center (REÖK). Several of Ede Magyar’s buildings are located in the neighborhood of the square.
