As per to the teachings of Zoltán Kodály, it is important to learn and teach singing and music from an early age. According to the Heritage National Children and Youth Folk Art Association, teaching children rhythm, play and dance is equally essential and important for their physical, mental and social development.

In order to practice and apply this in real life, the Szent-Györgyi Albert Agora organizes the National Children and Youth Folk Dance Festival every spring, with the support of the Heritage National Children and Youth Folk Art Association.

The aim of the event is to organize a folk art festival in which children and young people, dancers, musicians and singers, can present all the knowledge they have in an excellent venue and in theatrical conditions, and where they are happy to show 1 or 2 choreographies for their fellow dancers, their leaders, the interested audience and invited professionals.
