Jazz, ragtime and dixieland in abundance, performed by the most outstanding Hungarian representatives of the genre! For one night, Szeged becomes the jazz capital of the country thanks to the Molnár Dixieland Band and their star guests.

On August 12, at the Újszeged Open-Air Stage, almost everyone who matters in the world of driving rhythms, smoky sounds and masterful improvisations will take the stage.

At the gala, both together and separately, the audience will be dazzled by perhaps the most prestigious ensemble of Hungarian traditional jazz, the Máté Péter Award–winning Budapest Ragtime Band; the Kossuth Prize–winning Hot Jazz Band, led by Tamás Bényei, famed for its interpretations of classic Hungarian film music; and Szeged’s pride, the more than sixty-year-old, eMeRTon Award–winning Molnár Dixieland Band.

As solo vocalists, two divas of stunning talent and powerful voices – Artisjus Award–winner Mariann Falusi and eMeRTon and Máté Péter Award–winner Andrea Szulák – complete the evening’s program, which brings together Hungarian jazz greats recognized on the international stage as well. The musical director of the concert is Gyula Molnár Jr., recipient of the Juhász Gyula and eMeRTon Awards.
