The musical tells the backstory of the Wizard of Oz, focusing on the life of Elphaba, the green-skinned witch often thought to be evil. Wicked tells a truly unique story about an unexpected but deep friendship between two young women: the beautiful and popular Glinda and the misunderstood Elphaba.

A worldwide sensation since its 2003 premiere, Wicked has won more than 100 international awards, been performed in over 100 cities in 25 countries, translated into 13 languages, and seen by nearly 65 million people worldwide.
Wicked is one of the most beloved and successful musicals in the world. Its popularity was further boosted by the 2024 film adaptation, a huge success starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
