In keeping with tradition, the Szeged Christmas Weeks, the season of Advent preparations, will begin on November 27, ahead of the first Sunday of Advent.

The main venue will once again be Dóm Square, where visitors of all ages will find programs to enjoy.

Children can explore the straw maze and a storybook corner, take part in craft activities, make gifts or Christmas ornaments, and enjoy plenty of slide film screenings.

At the beginning of January, the enclosed Ferris wheel will continue to operate, taking visitors up to 50 meters high and offering a stunning view of the city center adorned in festive lights.

At Dóm Square, above the straw maze, the festive atmosphere will shine even brighter: 25,000 LED lights will now illuminate the area, up from the previous 8,000.

In addition to the Advent programs, there will be a fire-juggling show on Fridays, and during the last two weekends, visitors can enjoy spectacular light projections. Guests can also enjoy delicious food and drinks thanks to the usual Christmas culinary offerings.

From November 29, on Sundays, local public figures and church representatives will light the candles on the city’s Advent wreath together.

At Klauzál Square and Dugonics Square, visitors can enjoy mulled wine, and of course, the city center will be dressed in festive attire this year as well, featuring Christmas lights, a giant reindeer, and Santa’s sleigh.
