It was opened in the centre of Szeged in 1987, only three minutes from the bank of the Tisza.

The Alkimista is currently the highest rated gourmet restaurant in the Southern Great Plain region, one of the Top 100 Hungarian and Top 20 provincial restaurants.

The recently restored restaurant, also popular with tourists, is located in a quiet, pleasant area of Újszeged.
