The concept of fish soup has almost become inseparable from the fish restaurant in Roosevelt square, more popularly known as “Sótartó” (Salt Keeper).

The restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, is located at the foot of Belvárosi bridge, and is richly decorated with everyday objects that could belong to our grandmothers.

It is a popular, legendary meeting point for students and teachers working in the neighbouring university buildings, a place where some of the fundamental questions of philosophy have already been answered with a glass of drink.

The restaurant evoking the atmosphere of the traditional Victorian age was opened in 1996 in the heart of the city. Besides following European traditions, it aims to keep up Hungarian traditions as well.

It awaits its guests with a Mediterranean style interior in Kálvária Sugárút, in the centre of Szeged.

The restaurant was opened on 13th December 2011. The bistro, just like its dishes, represents a youthful, fresh and plain style.
