The headquarters of the Foundation are located in the building of the MÁV Directorate, where part of the railway relic collection is preserved. The display cases in the corridors of the building and the rooms in the basement present a wide range of historical materials, including documentation, locomotive models, uniforms, railway components and tool sets. Through interactive guided tours led by railway specialists, visitors can gain insight into the diverse and fascinating world of Hungarian railways.
During our 30 years of operation, we have inspired the interest of many visitors – children, members of the public and railway professionals alike – in the history and heritage of Hungarian Railways.
Visits are available by prior appointment.
There is no entrance fee, but donations from visitors over the age of 14 are greatly appreciated and gratefully accepted.
