Film and music meet on Hungary’s largest stage: the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra brings a special concert to Dóm Square! For nearly two decades, under the direction of music director Gábor Hollerung, the orchestra has introduced the genre of film music concerts to Hungary. Their legendary film music concerts always attract enormous attention, thanks to outstanding music, cinematic imagery, engaging commentary, and evocative conducting – all combining to create a truly unique concert experience.
In Szeged, the orchestra will offer the audience a performance rich in both visual and musical experiences on July 24. As fans of this esteemed orchestra have come to expect, the Cinefonic evening will feature highlights from the finest film music repertoire, as well as music from the latest blockbuster films.

The concert will be conducted by Guido Mancusi, the orchestra’s official principal guest conductor, composer, leader of the orchestra at the Wiener Volksoper, guest conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker, and principal conductor of the Schönbrunn Orchestra Vienna. Known for his brilliant sense of humor, he never fails to captivate audiences – and the concert at the Szeged Open-Air Games will be no exception. This is an event not to be missed!
