The musical programs of the Musical Courtyard counterpoint the monumental performances of the Szeged Open Air Festival. The events which has been operating for several decades, are held in the patinated, monumental neo-baroque courtyard of the Szeged City Hall. It was established in 1970 as a supplementary program of the Szeged Open Air Festival.

In contrast to the large open-air auditorium of Szeged Open Air Festival, the auditorium here in the courtyard is small, 250-300 people can be seated there thus it creates a more intimate connection between the artist and his audience.
Taking advantage of the fact that music is a unified language, the classical and sophisticated pop music performances promise pleasant summer evening entertainment for foreigners as well.
