Interactive Science KnowledgestoreHow many legs does a centipede have? How many different kinds of falcons live in Hungary? What does antimony-glance look like? By visiting the special science collection located in the building of Juhász Gyula Teacher Training Faculty we can find the answers to these questions, as well as plenty of other information. The herbarium and zoological department of the collection, funded by the former college and its legal predecessor more than 130 years ago, show more than 10000 species, which is an enormous treasure, part of the Hungarian Cultural Heritage. Instead of being a traditional museum, the KnowledgeGate awaits those interested with interactive sessions and presentations. In accordance with their needs visiting groups can choose from a variety of sciences (maths, chemistry, physics, geography, technology), with the experts of the collection revealing the entrancing secrets of sciences in 45 minute modules. The laboratory educational programs are primarily designed for elementary and secondary school students, but families and other age groups including the elderly can also learn about the secrets of scientific experiments. With the guidance of experienced, qualified researchers, spectacular experiments are carried out several times a day, making it possible for even those who have been averse to the world of sciences so far to make surprising discoveries.
