The Summer Flower Carnival is a special event filled with scents and colors, celebrating the love of nature, traditions and experiential learning. The program focuses primarily on lavender and roses, but visitors can also discover the well-known flowers of our grandmothers’ gardens as well as ancient Hungarian plant species that have been part of the natural and cultural heritage of the Carpathian Basin for centuries.
An important aim of the event is education and knowledge sharing. Expert presentations introduce natural ways of maintaining health, including the beneficial effects of medicinal herbs and the world of herbal teas, essential oils, soaps and syrups. Visitors can gain insight into both common and rarer elements of Hungary’s native flora, the cultivated plants of traditional rural farms and gardens, as well as the history of certain non-native species that have become part of everyday life and are now considered unique Hungarian specialties.
