Târgu Mureș (in Romanian) lies in the middle of Transylvania, in picturesque geographical environment. It is divided by the River Maros and it is surrounded by hills covered with oak and beech forests. It has a population of 160.000, mainly Hungarians and Romanians. Târgu Mureș is the cultural, industrial and administrative center of the region.
