Wine Square is one of Szeged’s and the region’s most popular gastronomic events, celebrating quality wines, refined leisure, and social encounters year after year. During the five-day festival, downtown Szeged transforms into a true wine city. Visitors can discover wines from nearly all of Hungary’s major wine regions while the historic surroundings create a special atmosphere for tastings and conversations.
Among the represented wine regions are renowned Hungarian areas such as Villány, Tokaj, Eger, Szekszárd, Badacsony, and Pannonhalma.
In addition to wineries, brewers, pálinka producers, and artisan exhibitors are also present, making the gastronomic experience diverse and complex. Handmade products and unique creations further enrich the festival atmosphere, giving visitors the opportunity to take home special gifts and memorable souvenirs alongside their wine experiences.
The central venue of the programs is Dóm Square, where stages host mainly jazz and blues performers, as well as refined background music perfectly suited to a relaxed wine-tasting atmosphere.
